What Does an Accident Insurance Policy Cover?

Accident insurance policies are becoming increasingly popular since their valuable protection helps you build a comprehensive benefits package for your employees.

You might question is accident insurance worth it as part of your company’s benefits offering. But no matter how careful a person tries to be, accidents happen. Accident and health insurance and disability income protection work together to help provide financial protection to your employees. Even with health and disability insurance, one injury could easily cost an employee thousands of dollars.

Accident insurance policies provide a much needed level of financial protection for your employees. The expenses that come with accidents can be more than many of your employees can afford. Without accident insurance to help fill the gap between medical and non-medical expenses, your employees could be faced with many expenses they may not be able to pay.

Here are just a few of the unexpected costs that your employees may be faced with:

Medical expenses:

  • Copayments
  • Deductibles
  • Other care employees are financially responsible for under your medical plan

Non-medical expenses while recovering:

  • Groceries
  • Rent or mortgage
  • Car payments
  • Child care

Accident insurance offers your employees an affordable solution to the costs of today’s higher deductible health plans. It can help ease the financial burden while they recover, so they can focus on getting back to work, not trying to manage financial difficulties.

Choose the coverage level that’s right for your company

No two businesses are the same. That's why we offer three accident insurance plan options with increasing levels of coverage including:

  • Value
  • Advantage
  • Premier

Plus, you can tailor your group coverage further to meet the specific needs of your workforce through a range of optional riders. You choose the coverage level and options that are right for your employees.

Benefits paid for over 40 circumstances

No matter which accident insurance plan you select, your employees will be covered for the following events and services outlined in the chart below. The main difference between our three plans is the coverage amount paid to insured employees.
